Which Leak Detection Service Do I Need?

Start with the clue you have. The table matches common symptoms to the service that owns that problem. If two rows fit, start with the meter test, because it tells us whether water is leaving the system and roughly where.

Detection methods

Leak Detection Methods And When Each One Is Used

No single tool finds every leak. The specialist chooses the method by the type of pipe, where it runs and how loud the leak is.

Acoustic Leak Detection

Water escaping a pressurized pipe makes a hiss that travels through the pipe, the slab and the soil. Ground microphones and electronic listening equipment amplify that sound so the specialist can follow it to the loudest point, which is usually the leak.

Thermal Imaging

An infrared camera shows temperature differences on floors, walls and ceilings. A leaking hot water line leaves a warm bloom, and evaporating water from a cold line shows as a cool patch, so the camera narrows the search area without touching the surface.

Tracer Gas

When a leak is too quiet to hear, the line is drained and filled with a safe hydrogen and nitrogen mix. The gas escapes through the smallest crack and rises through concrete or soil, where a sensitive detector picks it up at the surface.

Pressure Testing

Each section of plumbing is isolated and held under pressure on a calibrated gauge. If the reading drops, that section is leaking. Testing hot, cold, supply and irrigation lines one at a time tells you exactly which system has the problem before anyone looks for the spot.

Moisture Mapping

Pin and pinless moisture meters measure how wet drywall, wood, subfloor and insulation really are. Mapping the readings shows where the water is spreading from and confirms when materials have dried after the repair.

Pipe And Line Locating

Before anyone listens over a buried line, the route has to be known. Electronic pipe locators and small transmitters called sondes trace where service lines, irrigation mains and yard pipes actually run, which is often not where the original plans show.

What Leak Detection Services Do You Offer?

We offer water leak detection, hidden leak detection, ceiling and wall leaks, slab leaks, crawl space leaks, underground leaks, water service line leaks, water meter and high bill investigations, irrigation and sprinkler leaks, pool and spa leaks, and commercial leak detection across Texas.

How Do I Know Which Service I Need?

Match your main symptom: a warm floor suggests a slab leak, a soggy yard suggests an underground or service line leak, a ceiling stain points to ceiling and wall detection, and a high bill with no visible water starts with a meter investigation. If you are unsure, call and describe it.

Do You Repair Leaks As Well As Find Them?

Finding the leak precisely is the specialist step. Once it is marked, repair options are explained and can be arranged, with work requiring a licensed plumber or irrigator carried out by licensed professionals.

Are Your Methods Safe For My Home And Family?

Yes. Acoustic listening, thermal imaging, moisture meters and pressure tests are non invasive. Tracer gas is a safe, non toxic hydrogen and nitrogen mix used in very small amounts.

Do You Work On Commercial Properties?

Yes. We locate leaks in offices, retail, restaurants, warehouses, apartment communities and HOA common areas, often outside business hours to limit disruption.

Can I Get Help At Night Or On Weekends?

Yes. The phone line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays.
